Mario Castañeda arrived in Switzerland in 2001, after successfully completing a Bachelor's degree in the Music program at UDLA-P (Universidad de Las Americas, Pueblo, Mexico). He entered the Tibor Varga academy of Sion, in 2010, in Marcio Carneiro and Susan Rybicki-Varga's class. He obtained his Teaching Diploma in 2007.
He studied at the University of Music in Lucerne in the class of Marek Jarie, and, in 2010, earned his CAS. In parallel with his studies, Mario Castañeda perfected himself under the influence of great masters such as Thomas Demenga, Frans Helmerson, Gàbor Takacs Nagy, etc.
He performs regularly in Switzerland and Mexico, mainly in cello-piano duos. He began training in Suzuki Pedagogy at the Suzuki Institute in Lyon in 2008. During the next four years, he successively achieved four levels.
He started a violoncello class using this method in 2010, and founded the association in favor of the Suzuki Music School Geneva in 2015.
